/ɒ/ là âm ngắn. Để phát âm, đặt lưỡi thấp và ở phía sau miệng; nhẹ nhàng đẩy đôi môi lại với nhau và phát ra âm ngắn

- /ɒ/ thường được viết thành o, đôi khi là a.

- /ɔ:/ được viết thành nhiều cách khác nhau
